 Who We Are

To empower volunteers to serve our community, and meet humanitarian needs.

The Belvidere Lions Club was chartered in 1952. Currently we have 30 active members who meet on the second and fourth Mondays, 6:00 PM at the Belvidere American Legion Hall. Dinner is served at 6:30 PM.

We conduct community events throughout the year. Please visit our events page for more information. Our club, like all Lions Clubs, is dedicated to sight preservation, in addition to a variety of local causes.

Our Objectives:

  • To create and foster a spirit of understanding amoung the peoples of the world.
  • To promote the principles of good environment and good citizenship.
  • To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.
  • To unite the members in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.
  • To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by the club.
  • To encourage service-minded men, women and families to serve the community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
